Animated Videos

In 2013, BC Healthy Communities wanted to produce a couple of short animated videos. The videos were intended to educate audiences – both internal and external –about the role of local governments in public health.
I teamed up with a talented young animator named Derek Pante and we created two short videos, one on the history of public health, and the other about the current approach to healthier communities. I wrote the scripts (with guidance from BCHC staff) and Derek created the visuals.
This was an interesting challenge. I learned just how labour-intensive animation is. Also, we had a LOT of information to pack into a short script, but with the animation the script came to life.
