Metro Vancouver

Zero Waste Challenge

2009

With the advent of the blue box recycling program and other waste diversion tactics in the early 1990's, Metro Vancouver established ambitious goals for reducing, reusing and recycling waste slated for disposal. By 2009, the regional district had successfully reduced waste by approximately 50%. In that year, I helped author the Zero Waste Challenge Plan, a document lays out strategies to raise that level to 70%.
